Very brief walk today—or what counts for a brief walk in the Camino. It was only seven miles. Everything is relative!
I had arranged my arrival to coincide with the medieval festival in Hospital del Orbigo. It was a special serendipitous treat to experience the streets beautifully decorated with flags, the many costumed people, and the bustling market. We even saw a bit of jousting. Of course I found some great people to enjoy it with. I stayed up VERY late to watch a torchlight parade and fireworks.
Age 26 was when I got my current job as a professor. Even though I had very little experience, my then boss took a chance on me. I’m very grateful for his support. That was also the 2000 election when I appeared on the front page of the Washington Post while protesting. That was the year I bought Dieter the green VW Cabrio.
